Answers to the questions we get asked most often about how AussieCitizen works, what it costs, and how our simulated tests are scored.

Is AussieCitizen an official government service?

No. AussieCitizen is an independent educational preparation platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by the Australian Government or Department of Home Affairs. Always check official Australian Government sources for the latest citizenship test information.

Do you use the real citizenship test questions?

No. Practice questions are independently created for educational preparation. They are not official Australian citizenship test questions, and we cannot guarantee any particular outcome on the real test.

How is a simulated test scored?

A simulated test has 20 multiple-choice questions, five of which are Australian Values questions, and runs for 45 minutes. You pass only if you score at least 15 out of 20 overall AND answer all five Australian Values questions correctly.

What happens if I run out of time?

The test submits automatically when the 45-minute timer reaches zero. Any unanswered questions are marked incorrect, exactly as you should expect from a timed simulation.

Can I see why an answer was wrong?

Yes. In practice mode every question reveals the correct answer, an educational explanation and a source reference as soon as you answer. In mock mode nothing is revealed until you submit.

What is the readiness score?

The readiness score is our own estimate of how prepared you are. It blends your recent accuracy, your Australian Values accuracy, how many questions you have answered and your simulated test results. It is a study aid, not a prediction.

Does the app work on a phone?

Yes. AussieCitizen is built mobile-first, so study notes, practice sets and simulated tests all work comfortably on a phone or tablet.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can request deletion from the Settings page and we will remove your profile, answers, bookmarks and test history.
